Factory Federal Ammo Problems
These are pictures of one of three cases I fired from a box of Federal Premium ammo. I stopped and disassembeled the rest of the box after 3 of these. I should have stopped sooner. There was no damage to my gun but there could have beed.

Looks to me like there was a thin spot in the cases base. Could happen to anyone. Just bad luck. The speed that cases are made it amazes me that there isnt more of it. The primer looks like it was warm but not cratered indicating that it was at the top of load value.

How many times have these cases been reloaded?
I agree with Bolthandle, the photo of the primer looks very flat.

These were factory loads. I do hand load but these were some factory loads I had laying around for a few years. 0 -
this looks like brittel brass, the only time i've had this happen was with older IMPROPERLY STORED brass. any chance these cases were stored close to and clorine or amonia contaning products (on a shelf next to you wifes laundry products?). 0 -
