Stevens Favorite serial #s

I just noticed that someone got very excited about a 2 digit serial in the discussion about that great looking early Favorite. Virtually all Favorites have low numbers because as soon as Stevens reach 9999 they added a suffix. In the case of that particular Favorite, it was serial # B 45, if my math is correct (9999 +A 9999 +B 45)=s serial # 20,043

  I don't know what they did before but the new one I have has a seven digit serial number & they are all numbers. (It does start with 0 though.)
  It is odd that the serial number on this one is only about half of what the one I sent in for repair was. They replaced it instead of repairing it.
