springfield model 15
I have a J. Stevens Arms .22 bolt action single shot rifle. Can someone tell me where the serial number is for I can not find one.
Second question is how much is it worth. The only problem is some minor checking on the butt of stock. Would it be cost effective to repair that and would getting the stock replaced detract from its value.
The only fences we need to worry about are those we put in our minds

My husband and I recently aquired a Springfield Model 15, it has no patent number on it. The history on the gun is, the man we got it from said it was his grandmas and she used to sit out in the yard and shoot deer with it. We were just wondering if you could help us out on a date and a value on the gun. The stock was broken and taped back together. If anyone can help us out we would appreciate it. Thanks. 0 -
I believe the rifle your inquiring about, is a "Stevens-Springfield Model 15".
It's a small, single shot, bolt action. Chambered for the .22 rimfire cartridge.
It was made under the above name till after W W II, when it was sold under the Stevens name only.
They were inexpensive, enconomy rifles and have little value now unless they are in factory original, excellent condition.

You can get almost all of the parts for this gun from the Numrich Gun Parts Corp., 866-686-7424, www.e-GunParts.com and I'll bet they have a replacement stock for you. A Stevens Mod. 15-A was the very first rifle I ever owned. Unlike the very first dollar, I stil have it! 0 -
well he said his gramma had it and he is in his 70's and it is not that it doesn't have a patent number on it but patent pending and we were just wondering if it had any value and if we took it and got it cleaned if it would be safe to use and how old it is 0
