H&K made a civilian rifel the SL-6 that might suit the bill for you. Out of productiona and a little pricy. I believe CZ makes a semi auto .223. My 2 cents [8D]

    jazzman111,

"I'd like to find a rifle that is quality made but not in a military style or bolt action assembly. That eliminates the Ruger minis, the AR-15 styles and the H&K types."

I'd say that eliminates about 98.7% of the field. You could go with a mini-14 and restock it possibly. but, it would still look a little military. -Good luck

We have the second amendment so that all the rest are secure....UNK>

Check out the Keltec SU16, Armalite AR180, and Saiga 223, if you can find one. Both the Keltec and Armalite take AR mags. Are you in CA? Because I can't see the benefit of buying a 223 that takes proprietary magazines. The AR is the most accurate 223 system out there for target shooting and AR mags are the cheapest 223 mags available. Please give us a little more info.

    What he said.

It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.

I'm assuming you want a semi-auto since you ruled out bolt-actions, but you don't want military-style or a Ruger mini-14.

The only one I can think of is the Kel-Tec SU-16, but it takes GI mags (is that "military-style"?).

Otherwise, I'd say you're pretty much out of luck.

Thanks, guys. Yep, looks like if I want a "civilian" looking, non-bolt action .223 rifle, there are only a few choices--Browning BLR (if you can find one), the Browning low wall, the Ruger #1, etc. Really wish that Browning had made the BAR in .223, but it seems they never have.

How about the Remington 7600 pump? Or the Rem 7400 semi, I think that they are both produced in the .223
