AR-15 Type Pins?
I am thinking about getting a new upper for my Colt MT6700 AR-15 type rifle. It seems like I have heard or read somewhere that the pins that keep the upper and lower receivers are different sized on a Colt than other manufacturers.
Is this true or a false?
Thanks,
CDM

CDM... In the past Colt made guns with a large front pin to join the upper to the lower recievers. Now everyone is operating from the same page so they are all uniform.
If you want to mate an older Colt lower with the large pin to an upper with a small pin there is a special adaptor pin you can get from most of the AR parts suppliers. If you go to a gun show you may be able to pick one up there.

For future reference, the front pin is called the pivot pin, the rear pin is called the take down pin.
