Colt SAA 2nd
I am an expert of antique firearms who is acknowledged by the German police authorities. One of my clients has to prove to the police that a COLT revolver, constructed in 1956 (?) was completed with component parts of older productions (1st generation?). The information given to me in Germany does not prove it clearly.
Can You give me a piece of information by taking the particulars to this weapon

Hey what are the gun control laws for civilians in Germany?
Just wondering because I have a class on Germany and a teacher asked me and I did not know.

Something doesn't compute here.
If this SAA was made in 1956, the serial # should be 3301SA, not SA 3301. If the prefix is SA, it's a third generation SAA, made after 1978.
Third generation guns started in 1976 with 80,000SA and continued to 99,999SA (in 1978) and then changed to an SA prefix beginning with SA01001.
However, serial numbers aside....if this is a 2nd generation gun, production of the 1st generation SAAs ended in 1940 and production of the 2nd generation SAAs started 16 years later, in 1956.
IF Colt had any leftover 1st generation parts from 1940, it's entirely consistent with the way Colt did business to use leftover parts from one model to the next (ask anybody who's ever worked there). So, IF Colt had any leftover 1st generation parts in stock, it's entirely possible that they were used in early 2nd generation guns....which 3301SA would've been.
However, I don't know if there's any way of proving this in a court of law. If you're willing to make an overseas phone call to Colt Factory Archives, they might have some information that could help you.

As I recall, the only drawing changes on the internals from the post BP models to the third Gen. models were on the firing pin and bushing, all other changes were made after the third Gen. revolvers were in production....barring some process in which the age of the metal is determined....I see no way to tell if a part is pre or post war. 0 -

Hey, give me an exactly question about the german gun-law0 -
if you were a expert you would know how to reconize 1st & 2nd generation parts such as [barrel, cylinder, backstrap, an grips]on the Colt six shooter, as for internal parts even if their is away to tell the difference you could not prove that the firearm was built w/ these parts unless you had documentation from the actual assembler [person] at the Colt factory who work on that peice by serial# which in the first place is a bogus #,it is possible that parts from an earlier product will be found in the newer version in the first months of production from over runs, but not the reverse, as an example a car manufacturer may have a 2000 model engine in a 2001 car, but if fined a 2001 engine in a 2000 model something is amiss. not forgetting that all parts have over runs for warrentee purposes, rebuilds, broken replacementparts.... etc. so by the correct serial
if there is one you be able to almost to the day that that firearm
was built by colt an there were no fires after 56' that i'm aware of
