Shooting bench/rest. Anyone build one?

I'm in the process of building a portable shooting bench and was curious if anyone has built their own. I wouldnt mind seeing others' before I start the final cutting on mine...right now I have a big inch and half thick rectangle...curious if I should sand and stain the top and leave it like that or cover it with something. The one I've seen from Midway has something like boat carpet covering the top. Any pics/advice/etc would be greatly appreciated.

    The bench I had planned is just like the boogerbench and Larry Willis' bench. Was looking to see if anyone else had come up with something interesting or unique to add.

    I just built a portable bench to use at the indoor range. Because of space restrictions, it is only 2' X 3'. It is only 1' wide, L shape with screw-on legs. There is just enough room to set up with a 1' sq
    area for ammo. It was made out of a 2' X 4' piece of 3/4" marine, cut
    in 'L' shape and screwed and glued together. The inside corners were
    cut on a radius so there are two symmetrical pieces. It has worked out very well.

    i built one like the booger bench. it does verry well. i have used it for sight in and varmint shooting. the only thing i would do to help it out would be to have the legs adjustable. when out on the ground it is very hard to find a level area that supports all four legs.
