ar10?

TED GAR
I am an AR-15 223 man. I am looking for a 308. Is the AR10 as good as as Springfield M1A. I just want some honest feedback. Thanks.

    The US Army rangers picked the AR-10 varient for there long range rifle. The M1A is still being used in many military and law enforcement organizations. The FAL is also being used around the world. Match the marksman with the right rifle. What works for you? It is a mater of choice and in this crowd this is no wrong choice. [8D]

    If you are an AR 15 man, then you would love an AR 10 since the it was the original that the AR 15 is patterned after. I have an AR 10 T in .243 and it shoots awesome. I think the thing to remember is the cost / value of the rifle being discussed. I had wanted an M1 variant for a long time until I learned that groups less than one inch a 100 yards required considerable work on the M1's that I was seeing in the 500 to 700 dollar range. I am sure that many will take exception to that statement, but it was actually made by our local gunsmith who shot on the Guard team for many years. My Armalite has been very accurate since the day it came out of the box, but I would expect a rifle that retails for close to two grand to shoot that way.[:D]
