Custom bbls for T/C encore
I am interested in a ss bbl for my encore, probably 7mm mag or .300 win. mag. Does anyone have any experience about the differences between the T/C factory barrels vs. the custom barrels by companies like Bulberry or Virgin Valley or others? Which custom barrel co. produces the best barrel, and are they better or just more expensive?

JD Jones of SSK Industries, Wintersville Ohio. Uses only Shilen barrels on his
projects. They are the finest shooting T/C's I have ever shot.
A little pricey, but as always you get what you pay for.
A big jump over the rest of them from what I have seen, or shot......

Of the custom barrel mfg. JD Jones barels are probably at the top of the current mfg. price list, but they are truly super barrels.
EA Brown, Virgin Valley, Bullberry or Fox Ridge are all fine barrels as well and I think you would be satisfied with any of these mfg.
Get pricing from each source and then this can help you weigh the perceived difference between each.
Me, with a standard caliber I'd Probably go with Fox Ridge (TC Custom Shop) or Virgin Valley. And for wildcats or more exotic commecial rounds my order of preference would be Bullberry or Brown.
Lastly, if you've to the budget for it ... go with Jones (SSK)
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
