S&W 500 Scope mount

I want to put a weaver base scope mount on a S&W 500 magnum. Where can I get a mount that fits on an X frame? Thanks Bshooter.

    Today the only thing available to you is the factory setup. In the not to distant future there may be some aftermarket stuff, but don't count on it ...

    Of course the preceding is said with the exclusion of having a mount custom fit ... that option exists, it will just set you back quite a few dollars.

    How does the s&w 500 shot. It seems like it would kick the hell out of you.

    500 shoots good, 4227 , imr works good in my gun. no muzzle flash to speak of, accuracy good, 350 gr bullet, 1400 fps/sec, data from hornady.granted, not the sceamers from the factories, but, will get ya used to this thing. the kick, even in the factory stuff at 1900fps/ 350 gr bullet, is not bad. i compare it to a full house .44. do not have a scope on mine yet, but it will tame the kick.there is a scope mount rec by s/w, but ,i bet weaver will offer one soon at a reasonable price.shoots good enough w/o one for 75 yds or so, or, as good as your eyes can handle.it is a lot of fun. good hunting, sk.

    in retrospect, the 45/70 contender is all one would need for deer, if using a h 'gun is what ya wanna do. starting ballistics, for the 500 and the venerable 45/70 are close. neither, in my opinion, are overkill. ya get a entrance and exit hole, and usually, or always, w/ the 45/70. an instant kill. and, if deer hunting is that want you want?no meat destruction at that the velocity is pretty much a given. a big bullet at a medium velocity.elmer keith had it right.

    Needless to say I would definitely put one hell of a good scope on that baby. Some of those cheapies will disinegrate on the firs tshot.
