Anybody got an OA-93

Those OA-93; ar-15 style pistols look like fun, especialy with a vertical front grip and a beta mag. Anybody work a rig like that before? Do they handel well, are they accurate at all? I was thinking about getting a setup like that and mounting a laser site on the rail.

    if im not mistaken, you cannot put the foregrip on it. that turns it into a rifle. try www.ar15.com

    Just talked to an Oly rep;the for grip would make this setup an AOW class3, anyway has anybody had the chance to use an OA-93 and what did you think?

    Well if you want a OA-93 upper right now you have to go through a dealer. Oly is only selling to dealer since they are having trouble keeping up with their demand for them. My buddy got his built and I have about 3 more weeks to get mine. He has only put about 50 rds through his but he says it is fun. But there is one huge draw back, it is so loud it isnt funny. I will give an up date and pics when I get mine done. Oly is selling complete guns for ~$1000. Like it was posted before if you put a front vertical grip on it becomes an AOW. It is not illegal to own an AOW but you have to go to a class 3 dealer and do lots of paperwork for it.

    Oly rep says their 6 months out for new orders. Funny how the foregrip changes things so much. I don't see why a foregrip should put this gun in the same catagory as a machine gun. Go figure. Any body have pics of one in action?

    Well I agree, but most firearm laws do not make sense. Here is why it is like that though. I tried to find the like for you on the ATF firearm difintions, but couldnt. In this case a Pistol is defined by haveing a single grip. If you were to put a front grip on it it would have 2 grips, making it not a pistol anymore.

    not so much that it only has 1 grip, but that it has 1 VERTICAL grip, technically you can hold onto the frame below the slide if you wanted to.... on an ar pistol that is feasible. A VERTICAL foregrip makes the weapon an AOW $5 transfer! Pistols made during the 94 ban were not allowed to have any front grip... that makes me sad [:(]
