I'm looking to buy an ak-47 and i have narrowed my choices down to a romanian or egyptian maadi. I was wondering if one is better than the other? 0 -
This post may draw replies until locked and you may not get an answer that you find definite. This is a topic touched on often. Search previous posts and responses and you will get all the info you need.
If you live in an area that has a couple of gun shops with 'used' racks. Visit as many as possible so you can get a feel with your own hands.
Most AK's will get the job done. They are a wonderfully simple weapon, but will never be a tack driver. If you do not have one yet, just get the cheapest one you can afford that does not offend you as a P.O.S. You will be getting another, different, one in the future anyway. MAK-90's don't seem to be complained about too much. Different SAR's are touted as great to trash. The list goes on and on....
Enjoy the foreplay .... I mean shopping.
If we do not hang together,
We will most certainly hang separately.0 -
Here is a link to a page that describes most of the variations. Most people will prefer the SAR series, or the SAM series. I think the SAM series is made in the U.S.A. The WASR is cheap, but completely reliable. Some will complain about them, but those people usually own one of the expensive ones, and there isn't that much difference. http://www.ak-47.net/ak47/index.html 0 -
I have a sar-95, Bulgarian version with the milled receiver and STEYR barrel. Shoots great, farily accurate with a 2.5 moa at 100yds. With a scope of course! 0 -
