HI POINT

I need the opinion of the group .I need a inexpensive 9MM handgun till I can buy a better gun .I saw a Hi Point ,it has avery good warrenty ,and also seemed solid. I know that the older handguns had a bad reputation ,but the new ones seem much better .Whats your views on this matter.Thank-You

    A friend of mine wants to trade me a High Point in 45acp for some work i did in his house. Ive seen what they are worth on the auction but are they actually worth having or is it money down the drain

    So how long have you been working for the HiPoint Company? Since no one has posted here today asking a single Hi Point question it appears you are doing some unsolicited advertising for the company. We already had a guy spamming us on the other forum with unsolicited ads and he was locked out. By the way, if Hi Points are so wonderful why do you even bother to own any of those other brands which you felt the need to mention? Surely your Hi Point can do everything those other guns can do. You do get what you pay for...you got a $100 gun and not many people are going to be too impressed!

    Sorry...I think I did post in the wrong forum. I do not work for HI POINT I only own a couple. And you have shot how many HI POINTS how many times? And yet you still ask the silly questions about my owning other firearms and that you would want me to compare a 100 dollar gun to a 500 hundered dollar gun? I mention the others to only say hey I can compare! Can you? They are a great working reliable firearms for the range.

    Check out the thread about surplus pistols.
    I have held the rifle and liked it, but that's the only hi-point i've ever seen in person that I can remember, so I am not qualifed to give a personal review of my own about it.
    However, I can tell you what I have HEARD about it over time. What I have HEARD from many people who claim to not own one or have any first hand experience is that their junk. What I have HEARD from the people who DO own them and DO have pleanty of first hand experience with them is that their a heck of a gun for their money.
    The only complaint I can think of that I have heard about them by people who have them is that some of them have soft frames = a short life span against heavy duty ammo and that one of them is not very accurate. Other then that, people i've come across who own them seam to like them. In general, what you ( the origionator of this thread ) have to say about them is pretty much the same as all the other Hi Point owners.

    I'd say generally you get what you pay for. If you ever get in a situation where you have to use a firearm, you'll wish you had the biggest baddest most who-da do-da whoopity-doo firearm there is.

    But for just shooting around, they aren't that bad, as long as you stick with MKS/Hi Point, I believe they are fairly safe. Anything prior to MKS mfg'd Hi Points, in my experience, seems to be very poorly made, and probably not safe to shoot IMHO.

    Anyway,I'm not ashamed to admit that I own a High Point carbine.

    Is it a Garand? No.

    Did it cost me $1000? No,it cost me $100.[;)]

    Is it dependable? Mine has been very dependable.[^]

    Is it accurate? The other day I put 18 of 18 rounds in a 2" square at 50yds.
    Don't laugh,I'm not worth a hoot freehand.[:(]

    Would I stake my life on it?That's not why I bought it,but yes,I would if it was the first one I could get my hands on.

    Is it a fun plinker? HELL YES![^]

    Would I buy another for $100? Another HELL YES!
