AR 15 uppers

Which AR 15 upper assembly should I buy. I have a colt ar 15 now in post ban I want a 16" upper in a pre ban confiruation. Who should I buy from? I want a chrome lined barrel. What are my options? So what other questions should I be asking I am new to this?

    Are you asking who to buy from or what type of configuration? I can weigh in on who to buy from but the configuration is going to be based on personal choice.

    I bought a complete chrome lined M4A3 flat top upper w/ bolt assy & charging handle from www.del-ton.com cost me $450. Best deal I could find on the net for chrome lined complete uppers. Put it on top of a $200 DPMS complete lower w/ 4 position collapsible stock from www.rguns.net
    Rear sight cost me $75. So for $725 I have complete chome lined AR.

    It really depends on how much you want to spend (or little) I am an ar nut but know very little about them as of now. But the best place to ask questions about them is in the AR15.com forums they have people that live eat and breath those things there and will point you in the right direction.

    That helps some. If you are not set on buying a "Colt" upper then I would recommend J&T Distributing, Del-Ton (as drobs suggested), or even Model 1 sales. Model 1 will have the best prices. I have ordered from J&T and they are top notch. IMO, the best bang for your buck is usually to buy a kit that contains everything, minus the lower receiver. That way you get your upper and sometime down the road you can just pick up a stripped lower and you'll have yourself a complete second rifle.

    I can't help you on the chrome lined barrel since I myself have never had any interest in them. I'm sure they can be had though.

    What other questions to ask? Hmmmmm .... whatever comes to mind! [:D]
