high standard supermatic trophy .22

i have one of these, made in 1983, all original,about nra 95% condition. although these are still current production guns, [this one has a military grip 7 1/2 " bbl, what might something like this be worth?thank you ,steve kapral.

    about 500.00 plus or minus 50.00 if it has a button takedown, but if it indeed was made in 83(last year production) with the allen screw bbl attachment, you got a dog...that will sell for about 375.00. curious...does the serial number have a 'V' at the end or in front of it?

    bobski, serial does not have a v , has an s at the start. appears to be a screw takedown. did not get burned on this, but what decreases the value?seems well made, and i am not sure of this , but did'nt the military use this , in a silenced version, for spec ops?does the allen screw make it weaker? thanks for your help, steve kquote:Originally posted by bobski

    east hartford guns did not have in house QA like hamden guns did. instead of one pro assembler deciding the final decision on his bench with final authority granted to him by GOD, some guy 500 miles away decided if it was good enough for the factory. the end result was when all the parts arrived at the factory to be assembled, many didnt fit, and instead of the novice assembler hired on a lower salary rejecting them, they crammed them together to make a gun by order of management. allen screw bbls tended to loosen while firing causing the bbl to lose zero. getting a good one is hit or miss. if they work, they work well. if not, it spends its life in the gunsmiths shop. because of these potential troubles, people dont pay much for them and the value is low.

    bobski, i understand now. thank you, steve kapral.the push button take down would be neat, and i can certainly understand the change of value, and i can see where this would be more desirable. thanks again,
