Gun cleaning kit????

Can any of you guys tell me anything about this gun cleaning kit,etc date of mfg,value(if there is any)?The kit is complete,all the oil and patches are still there.

    I would think the value modest, but I don't collect that sort of thing, so what do I know. One idea would be to look around Flea Bay for something comparable to get some idea of asking price.

    I have one just like yours except on the outside cover it has Revolver Kit and on the inside it has Pistol & Revolver Cleaning Kit, # 479 I've had this kit for over 40 years and still use the box, also still have the oil can! I think I paid $1.79 for it!, Les

    Funny thing, mine is identical except I got it from Sears 45 or more years ago. The pans and all but the rod holder and rod are long gone. Same exact metal container but it has Sears labels all over.It was labeled #2140 and is for 12-16 ga. shotguns! Still use it.

    1. common as dirt, but yours is a nice example.

    2. OUTERS rods of this period will not accept the jags , brushes, and other accsesories offered by every other kit manufacturer who had adopted an industry wide standard.

    3. would make a nice companion display piece to accsesorize a gun from that period.
