for all you mossberg shotgun experts out there...what is the difference in a model 590 from a model 590a1? both that i saw had ghost ring sights, and bayonet lug, looked identical...but the 590a1 had a price tag of $445 while the 590 had a price of $390...whats the deal?

One is a military round with a thicker case, and the other is a factory round, with a thinner case.
Other than that they are the same.

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

There was a good article on this in one the recent gun mags (I don't remember which one). They said a gun chambered in 5.56 can shoot both, but a gun chambered in .223 can only shoot .223.

The same pretty much. 5.56 is military and will have a thicker case but it shoots right through any .223 action. You can also shoot .223 ammo in AR-15/M-16 actions and HK93's, Galils, etc. They work just fine unless they are loaded so they won't feed.
Milspec 5.56 is loaded pretty hot and the thicker case is an extra preventative against case rupture. -hope that helps

We have the second amendment so that all the rest are secure....UNK>
