Help me identify this .22 please

    This rifle was made for sears by marlin I beleive itis a model 34A
    Ranger, JC Higgins, and Ted Williams are all sears names.

    I have the same gun, w/ orginal stock. Any idea what years they were made/how much they're worth?

    The crossover lists show this as a Model 34A. Going through Brophy however, I cannot find that Marlin ever built a model 34A. The photos above appear to me to be a model 65 which was built 1935-1937. As near as I can tell, it is the only marlin .22 built with a schnable forend tip. For the years known, if sold for $5.65-$6.75. This may not have been a production rifle for Marlin when built for Sears, but all that I know of were. $$ value will be very modest for a Ranger or any department store gun, no more than $150, likely below $100.

    My Dad had the exact same rifle.When my Dad died I brought it home and refinished the stock. I lent it to my brother. When he died I didn't have the guts to ask his wife for the gun.It sure was tack driver.

    And this has come to pass,not to stay.
