I've found PMC's target std. vel. solids work the best in my 41. That's not to say the same would hold true for yours but you may want to try them out. Good luck.Stay Safe........................

I would suggest that you invest in a set of Wolff calibration recoil springs. I had a lot of trouble with ammo in my 41 until I bought a set of recoil springs. The 41 factory spring is 7.5# and I had real problems with standard velocity ammo not ejecting. Wolff sells a 3 spring set of 6,6.5, and 7 lb springs. It has really expanded what I can get to fuction in my 41.

Hello Pearyw has a good point with the Spring kit. S&W made the model 41 to be able to shoot H.V. 22 ammo most target ammo is standard vel. so the gun does not want to cycle. For the most part when you first start shooting the pistol and any ammo will shoot better then the shooter. IMHO it is a waste of money unless you are rich to buy high dollar ammo at first. There is some very good cheap ammo "WOLF" amoung others that you can buy and pratice with . Nothing beats rounds down range . When You get so you can shoot small groups try to find someone with a RANSOM rest and test different ammo to see what your pistol likes every pistol is different.

The Wolf spring kit makes sense. Where can I buy it?
