Turkish Shotgun Value

I have an Turkish UZUMLU shotgun that i am interested in selling and unsure of the value. It is an UZUMLU, model S.poze, 12 gu, 71 in, O/U, full choke, manufactured in 1995 and has never been fired. It has a hand carved stock (falcon and wild bird scene) and engraved metal work around the trigger guard. The Mfg is SS UZUMLU AV TUFEKLERI SANAYI KOPERATIFI Belge No 636 Onay Tarihi 4.2.1991 UZUMLU - BEYSEHIR.

Any idea of the value of this shotgun? It bears no importer stamps, it was purchased and handcarried back to the USA by myself. Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you know a bit, so stick around we can use some more knowledgable folks around here. This sounds like pretty much one of a kind in this country or at least not common. That will make it pretty difficult to value as there is no real basis for comparison. Be a little patient, there are some pretty savy shotgun guys around here.

    Turkish shotguns have a spotty reputation. I have a Turk 12 ga O/U that I bought a few years ago for around $300. It is plain undecorated, simple, double triggers, extractor, etc, but very nice fit and finish. I have shot it some and like it a lot. Few if any of us have knowledge of the maker of yours. The art work on it would seem to indicate a higher quality but that should be verified by a person who is knowledgeable about shotguns, such as a reputable dealer. You could have a piece of some value but until that is proven I think it is in the $300 range. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the info folks. I'll see if anyone else comes in with anything, Huglu is the most well known of the Turk shotguns, maybe i should have stuck with that mfg.

    I also have a turkish shot gun. It has the name Merkez on it. When I bought it I was told it was hand crafted, if that were true. The warranty paper work shows Merkez Av Sanayi Ve Tic.Ltd. It is an over/under dual triger. Is there any where I can get a value on this gun. Also shows Av Tufekleri and under that is Under Hunting Shot Guns
