How much would you pay for these shotguns?

I was at the Kansas City Gun show. A friend was thinking about selling his Winchester model 1200 (full choke, 28" barrel, 3 inch chambers). This shotgun may be old but is still new. It has no wear and tear, and may have been fired. Vendors said they would give him $125 for this pristine pump.


2nd: The same vendor had for sale a Winchester model 1300 Commemorative shotgun. It was new and never fired. He said he would go as low as $365 and pay the taxes. It still seemed a little high for me. Also, can you shoot a commemorative firearm or do you destroy its value? What do you all think?

    A lot of commeratives have little actual additional value, but whatever they have is destroyed by using them. They become shooters with shooter values.

    If a gun can't be shot, I'd just as soon invest in the stock market. A guns purpose and fulfillment is in shooting- the commemorative would stay on the table.

    Buy the 1200, leave the 1300, save $240.00, and take your honey out for a nice Valentine's Day dinner.

    For bk3301: Thanks for tha advice. My friend has decided not to sell the 1200 and I am taking your advice on the 1300. Maybe some other day I'll buy one but not a commemorative (The vendor said he couldn't sell it and didn't understand why).

    i agree with the above posts. pass on the commemorative. how much do you want to spend on a shotgun? what are you going to use it for?
