M-1 Carbine Mag Rattle
I recently bought an Army M-1 Carbine, most parts made at GM, probably late WWII. Armorers had rebarreled it and put on M-2 furniture. I chose this over one with original but poorer condition furnitured M-1 with some parts made at Rockola (northern Indiana).
Quetion: The 15-rd. mags rattle after being inserted. Is this normal for vintage M-1 Carbines?

Define "rattle". Do you mean that the mag moves around after you insert it, or is the mag held firmly & the follower rattles?
Is this with just 1 mag, or did you try several?
Describe the bosses (raised areas) on the back of the mag.
Does it rattle with a full mag? Is your mag USGI?
What markings are on the face of the mag release, if any?
Is it easy or difficult to depress the mag release?
