For a reasonable price, you can get a god scope in the Bushnell Banner, or the Bushnell Legend models. I've had good luck with them, and they seem to hold up well. You might also consider one of the new Nikon Pro Staff models. I haven't had any experience with them, but I would bet money they are good scopes for the money. I would stay away from the real cheap scopes from tasco, simmons, and bsa, although there's probably people out there that would say they are just fine.

I used a TASCO Mag IV 6 X 24 scope for many years. About $120. It was great!!!!

Look into the mueller scopes they have a 6.5-25x-50mm with 1/8moa adjustments lit red dot that 1/8moa or you can turn it off and its turns into a black dot. Also has target trurets (pardon spelling) I just got one after hearing good things about them. I know it is no leupold but its close to as clear as my burris fullfield. 200.00 to your door.

Sir, I have been using and selling the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x with the mildot recticle for prairie dog shooters and they really like them. Great optics, bright and clear. One heckva buy for the money. You should be able to get them for around $290.00.
