I am going to purchase my 1st Kimber handgun and need a little guidence.I have the field narrowed down to two models,the Gold Match II and the Pro TLE.Looking for some input on these two models Thanks.Al

    Try to pick up the first generation model gold match.I have several and have no problems with them, I prefer the bushingless ones with the bull barrels. I have heard some neg. on the newer models.

    It depends on your intended use for it. If you intend to mainly shoot targets, matches etc., then go with the Gold Match. If you are looking for a carry gun, the TLE would be a better choice IMHO.

    I have owned a stainless Gold Match for over 6 years. It is by far the most accurate handgun I own. It has been 100% reliable with every type of ammo I have feed it. I bought it to shoot matches at the club and it is perfect for that purpose.

    It would not be my choice for serious carry due to the large sights.

    Ditto on the Gold Match.

    I have owned a Gold Match for 5 years and it is my favorite handgun. It is very accurate - capable of one hole groups at 25 feet and feeds and ejects every type of ammo I have run through the gun. I have found a load of about 3.7 grains of WST powder and a 230 RN lead bullet is deadly accurate in this pistol. It has never malfunctioned with either light or full-house loads. The barrel is polished so cleaning is maybe 12 pushes through the barrel and done.

    The gun is tight, has excellent sights and excellent (about 3.5 lb) trigger. If you purchase this gun you will not have to add any other modifications to make it shoot. It is a complete match package.

    Thanks for the input.Looks like I will be getting the Gold Match.I am getting it to punch some paper at the range and won't be using it for a carry gun. Thanks again,al
