I have a Stevens 12 Gauge side by side d/barrelled shotgun . It seems pretty old. The markings on the side are "J.Stevens Arms Company Chicopee Falls Mass USA". I was wondering how to tell how old it is as well as finding replacement parts (firing pins and butt)I know the company was bought out by Savage Arms. Does anyone know if other makers will have parts that fit.

  If it is a Stevens, There will be a date code {a letter} in front of the trigger guard or behind the hinge-pin. Post the letter and I'll give you a date between 1949 and 1968......
