The Redhawk is a double action revolver. The Black hawk is a sigle action revolver as is the Super Balck hawk. The Super Balck hawk was a beefed up version of the Black hawk for the 44mag and also became the frame from many of 455 casul. The trigger guard on the Super balckhawk is different than the Balckhawk. Some one else will beable to give a better understanding [8D]

very helpful thank you 0 -
Blackhawk = SA Revolver for all calibers except .44 mag, has high profile hammer, similar to Colt SAA with some design changes of course, stronger than a Colt SAA
Super Black Hawk = SA revolver that has a beefed up frame to handle the .44 magnums, also has low profile hammer, is not made to handle the .454 Casull
Redhawk = DA revolver, well balanced for a heavy frame DA, I prefer this over the Super Redhawk
Super Redhawk = DA revolver, poorly balanced, extremely heavy frame that will handle all the powerful ammo out there.
