win.mod 12

I have aquired a win.mod 12,2 3\4 chamber,16 ga. ser#813906,im gonna say 85%or better,Only other info i see is proof steel on one side of barrel other side has patent dates last of which is july,1913,Has a rather rough lookin leather hard side case that u have to break down gun to put in ,and a place to put shells in side also,i,ll say case is 50%,Also says winchester on case.Any of the experts tell me how old and give an est. value?ThanksPaul[?]

    Hello AKA: A nice Pre-war gun, 1939. The info you gave is not enough, barrel length, choke, plain barrel, solid rib, plain walnut stocks, checkered stocks? you could have a solid Rib Skeet gun, which is worth about 3 times that of a standard field gun. Please supply more info. As far as the case: Those were one of the many extras you could buy when you bought a Md 12. Currently they can run from about $40. to $150 for real nice ones. The little belt strap and buckle is where many of them have broken. A little saddle soap and elbow grease and you could have a great case. Barrel length should be 26,28, or 30 inches, measured from the face of the breech bolt with the action closed to the end of the barrel. I can tell you that Pre-war guns do bring about 10% more than Post-war guns. Get back to us with the info requested: Regards Dave

    Thanks only winchesters if u are still around gun is plain barrel,26 in in length,plain walnut stocks,full choke,Again i,ll say gun is at least 85%,stock is exc.cond with no dings or scratches,blueing is almost like new,no rust or pitting.dont sound like my 200 was throwed away anyway.any further please advise,Thanks,paul[?]

    Hello Aka: Well a 26 in. full, this is not a common length for a full choke. Most were 28 in. and a few 30 in. A Winchester collector who is looking to fill his/her series in 26in. barreled guns, may pay a bit more than the average person. I can only go by what you've said but the gun and case, could sell for $550-$850. You certainly got a great deal Paul. Regards Dave
