Rem 870 tactical...
I want to put the pistol grip front and rear stocks on my 870, and I am looking for a shorter barrel with no vent rib. Anyone know where to find one, and about how much it will cost? Thanks.

there was an 18" plain barrel on ebay, but what I would do is just buy an older 28 or 30" plain barrel and have it cut back to what you want and have a new bead put on , you end up with a cyl bore but you could even have it threaded for choke tubes ,,, do a search here on gunbroker for the stock you want 0 -
The pistol grip replacement for the stock and a shorter barrel are, IMO , the first and most useful change-outs to convert towards what you want. I have seen binding problems with the pistol grip replacement of the fore-end furniture. The 870, with dual 'action bars' to connect to the action may have less of a problem, but it can still be a problem. I can't remember who makes it, but I have handled a fore-end pistol grip that was free to rotate a limited amount around the magazine tube. That may reduce any binding potential, but I found it less desirable than the original forend. You may want to consider keeping the fore-end furniture, or replace with a black synthetic. It also makes for a cleaner 'draw' without having the front pistol grip to hang up on anything.
ENJOY !
If we do not hang together,
We will most certainly hang separately.0
