300 Savage
I'm trying to place a reasonable value on my father's deer rifle. It's a 300 savage #753934 that he bought new in the early 70's and never used.

It would help greatly to know the rifle make, model, and caliber. I assume you mean a model99 savage in 300savage but that would be a big assumption. Give us some more details and we can help.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

There should be a letter designation behind the model number and if
it is checkered. Off hand, Blue gives a gneral range of $325 to $525
but that depends on the type of stock (monte carlo, engraved, wood,
ect), if there is engraving, the sights, if it has had receiver
tapped, ect. The caliber is a little bit of a detriment, but it being unfired and I assume like new in box, which is unusual, but not impossible, I would guess more in the $500+ depending on the above to the right guy. It's difficult without more info, picture. More rare the type of stock, model # the higher. 99's have been gaining a little value right along. There are better than I to help you, hopefully they'll be along soon to tell me how wrong I am.0
