I personally own 2 45 acps by llama and yes I would and do depend on them for self defense. I have fired over 5000 rounds of full power loads from my first one and it still functions beuatifully.

    they are nasty, spit at you and try to bite you. hard to shear too.

    Quite an opening for a "first" post...

    Calm down, fellow. There are a few Llama lovers here, and a few Llama haters too. I'm in between, as Llama has improved a lot since they started being imported. I used to sell in my store some real beautifull Llamas, nice factory engraving, and dirt cheap. But when you opened them and look inside the machining was atrocious and the metal way too soft. They also had a "baby 1911" scaled down in .380ACP, and those were better, if you found one that worked too. Actually with a little bit of TLC you could get them to work, and then they were ok. Now their quality has improved, their metalurgy is up to par (although still a little bit soft), and their warranty is better. So, who knows, maybe Llama's time is here... or maybe not.
