I was getting that kind of group with mine at 15 yards after I replaced the grip safety with a beavertail one, springfields grip safety is curved down more than a real military 1911 and it screws with your accuracy and comfort or at least i did for me.

I shot have a Springfield target model and love it. I was at the range last week and a guy had one of the Mil specs. He has worked on the trigger and it shoots great. He was getting 2 - 2.5 inch groups with it. A guy I hunt with has a Mil Spec and had the slide dipped in Nickel and it looks sharp. He said it was easy to work on. I have seen the guns sell for just over $400. I think you will like it.

I had a Springfield Mil-Spec. for several years and found it to be a great firearm. It would shoot 3-4" groups with my handloads at 25 yards. I wish I had not had to part with it a few years back.

I have had mine for about a year and no troubles. Out of the box, the trigger pull was slightly on the rough side (ceramic stone cleaned it up nicely) and shot to the left 3" @ 15yds but elevation was right on. Good shooter, good groups. Great buy for the money.

like gottashot i have had mune for almost a year . . .and love it

have had a few jams with it but they are attributed to crappy ammo and standard stamped mags.

it was a very nice gun for the price.

i say that i had one because i baught it withthe intent to customize it. it is very far from mil spec now.
