Savage 12 FV??
Anybody got any feedback on these guns. I'm thinking about a 243 for next year. Something to hunt with and for a long range toy during the off season. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 12fvss in a 22-250 with an Accu-trigger and fullfield 4x12x42. Have used it for a year and a half on prairie dogs and coyotes. It is an accurate gun and shoots well with 55 gr. bullets. I have been extreamly pleased with the performance and reliability. I have put 300 rounds in a single day shooting prairie dogs and didn't miss a whole lot (close shots)and it performed flawlessly. Nate, buy one, thats all I can say. Awesome accuracy, great trigger and all for under $500. I picked up mine for $470 brand new. If I had to do all over again I would probably spring for the Low Profile stainless version with the laminated stock. I now have to spend an extra $150 to $200 on a different stock to make the gun how I really want it. 0 -
I can't say enough good about mine. I have a .223 and regularly shoot clovers with a broad range of loads. And, I've shot over 1500 rds. through it. Savage puts the money where accuracy counts. The newer accu-trigger is extremely good too. Mine is pre accu-trigger, but I had a trigger job done.
The .243 is a great long range varminter too. Anyhow, I reccomend it.

Savages are the best gun out of the box for the money hands down.
I shot my frist long range rifle comp last weekend and was on paper on a standard B-27 target out to 900 yards. Fell a foot short at 1K but that was me not adjusting my scope right. Not bad for a 600 dollar gun.0
