I have an m1 Garrand and i think I want to put a scope on it has any one any experence with this? If so where do you find the mounts and what type .

  i am going to buy an m1 garrand and dont know a lot about them.what is throat errosion?

  It's the wear to the rifled part of the barrel closest to the chamber. This area is worn away by hot gases & abrasion from bullets being fired. The amount of Throat Erosion is measured with a gauge; when TE=>5, military armorers replace the barrel, although most rifles will continue to perform satisfactorily until TE=10.
  
  I think Muzzle Wear is more important to a buyer, especially one who is looking for a shooter. Once the rifling at the muzzle is worn, the rifle will always be inaccurate. This, too, is measured with a gauge.
