What you have is almost certainly an early Weatherby made when he was using the Mauser 98 and other makes of actions. Among collectors it is referred to as a Weatherby Southgate as it was made in Southgate, CA prior to manufacture of the Mk V in Germany. It is a very hot cartridge and probably will have a chrome lined barrel.
I believe they came in different grades. You need to determine what grade prior to listing it for sale. There is an article about these early Weatherby's in the 1953 Gun Digest. If your rifle is indeed an early Weatherby I will be glad to scan and email you the four page article.0 -

People look for values all the time here, I suggest you look at the bolt action section of rifles and type in Mauser for search. You will come across about 4-5 pages of auctions. Look at the various customized mausers and that will give an idea about the price. You can see that the higher priced ones have all/most of the documentation about what was done to the rifle and who did it. The real money in Mausers is in original military configuration or the high dollar "safari" grades like the 66. -Good luck.
p.s. It helps to know the exact chambering too.
