Hey guy's I bought a case of 500 rounds Winchester Ranger Ammo, I was told that it was great ammo, had awesome reviews.. I've fired 5 boxes of it so 250 rounds give or take, so far I've had 60 missfires, I've reloaded and tried again still with a secondary strke from the firing pin it wouldn't fire. All the winchester ammo I hae shot in the past has been 100% quality never had a missfire but this stuff is just horrible I was wondering if anyone knows the contact info for Winchester Customer Support? I went on their website and looked around and I couldn't find ANY contact info at all, so any help with this Would be greatly greatly appreciated.

ran thru 15000 rounds of it this year out of a few subguns... no problems, burns clean, and yes the bullets do have an odd color...

I have used a lot of it too, and don't have any problems with it.

Interesting. I wonder why they want it back?

    Thank you.

The bullet isn't brass, it's just impure copper. Sometimes the winny val-pack bullets look like brass, sometimes not, but it's plenty decent range ammo. I agree that it burns somewhat dirty, but it beats the crap out of Wolf or Blazer. I have probably fired over 10,000 rounds of it in 9mm and easily another 4,000 in .45. You can't even load 9mm with decent bullets (read: jacketed, not just plated) for the price wally world sells the 100 rd packs. At our local store they are $10.36. Wish they would start doing 10mm..........[:(]

Hunter375: I am so glad you posted that. I've got a butt-load of that ammo but have never shot any of it. If it turns out to be crap I was gonna be really , really upset.

Your post put my mind at ease, but are you sure that some of the bullets are really impure copper?

I have shot tons of the win-clean through my pistols with no problems, primarily due to the cost

I shoot the Win white box 100 rd value packs all the time through my gun.

Yes, the bullet jacket looks like brass, not copper.

Don't know why; don't care. I've shot at least 6-7 boxes worth in the past few months without any hitch. The cases do come out dirty after shooting, but that hasn't caused any problem for me.

I also think for the dollar, its probably the best 9mm out there.

I shoot 3000+ rounds a year of the Win Value packs from Wal-mart.

Never any problems with it. The bullet color does not affect it performance.

Sounds like a dirty batch of powder (incorrect formula) that they're redfaced about ... and want it back because they don't like unhappy customers. The bullet color wouldn't have anything to do with it. RemFinished1.jpg

Thanks everyone for their input. I purchased it because it is cheaper to buy than I can reload it for and I am switching all my pistol reloading over to 44 spl/mag and 45 LC.

The big brown truck just picked it up. We'll see what happens.
