You need to take it to a gunsmith and have it drilled and tapped for the weaver base.I don't know of any other way to attach a weaver base to your Ruger. Must be an awful big scope![:)]

Ageed it must be taken to a smit hand most charge about 8-10 dollaers a hole to drill and tap it. What scope could you possibly be putting on this gun that a super high wont work ?

Drilling and tapping is not needed. Burris makes a Ruger to Weaver Base Adapter that should solve your problems. These are listed on page 335 of the current Brownell's catalog and retail for $38.00 for the set.

Thanks for jogging my memory, Ronald J.! I KNEW I had seen those things somewhere. Was trying to remember where (senior moment[:I]). I was thinking I might want one to mount a red dot on my Ruger pistol.

The bases I mentioned work on the receivers that the rings are not the same height. Be sure you get the correct ones.

Also, you might try Warne Rings (made in Oregon by the guys that initially had Kimber). I just got a set for my M77 when I got a 30mm scope, and I recall they made some that were quite high, so you may be able to avoid the addition of a base.

Johnp I'm sorry I steered you wrong on my reply to your post, I've been around a bunch and had never seen a Ruger to Weaver base, Thanks to Ronald J. Snow for the quick catch. I'll be a little slower on the quick reply next time. Thanks for keeping me straight guys!
