Save your money and buy the Savage or Marlin, not the overpriced Ruger. 0 -
New Marlin with the better trigger, savage, ruger. Look also at the CZ. Nice rifle with nice trigger. 0 -
I like the CZ, but I sell more of the Savages.

The CZ wins hands down for accuracy, and reliability. They are also a very nice looking piece as well.
Teach them young ! Teach them often !

get your favorite 22-250 or .243 for Coyotes. Use a Marlin 17VS for the smaller varmits like prarie dogs. The .17 HMR is a fine round but a little light for coyotes in my opinion. Good luck

I know of people here in this forum from time to time say they kill Yotes with .17's but don't you think it is just too light? I own and enjoy my Taurus 12" .17 handgun but wouldn't consider it for anything but small critters. Yes you may hit a coyote with a .17 out to two hundred yards but I just don't believe it packs enough stuff for a clean, humane kill.I, personally have killed a coyote with a .22 hornet which was probably alot of luck...hit him broadside with him on a trot...he still ran a long way before he bled out... If I were going to seriously hunt Yotes my caliber would be something more along the lines of 25.06...Just my opinion and as you know, everybody has one... 0 -
I have the Ruger 77 17. It is extremely accurate and I also like the box rotary clip. It gives it a lot cleaner look. 0 -
I just put the 204 Ruger barrel on my Contender carbine for coyotes. Havent tried it yet but getting real itchy. If it wasnt for the speed I'd say the 204 was marginal. I'd stick with a .223 or better but I had to try this one. 0
