Does anyone have an opinion on the SL8? Good or bad? Does anyone have any experience with the SL8?

I've heard they are not imported anymore. Is that true and does anyone know why?

They are not manufactured anymore for the US.
Why? Who knows, but I assume it is in line with HK's cold shoulder policy involving American citizens. HK has made no bones about the fact that its main interest is military and LEO.

they still are. i '[ve been in germany over Christmas and saw the new version of them since the assaulte weapons had sunset there aswell. The new version is all black.

As far as I know, the USC and the SL8 are no longer available in the U.S. H&K is too busy with the XM8 (which may or may not be adopted), new uppers for the M4 carbine, and is too scared of the types of civil actions that have afflicted Bushmaster and others to make their products available to civvies.
Which is fine by me - FN is turning out some cool new items and they trust us enough with their wares to market them.0 -
i guess it's not that much a matter of trust in us but the trust in our lawyers[8D]
I checket the european market the sell it there in a nblack version for 1400 Euro ($1800)
