SKS Grenade Launcher Brake?

I'm not a Gunsmith that's why I'm asking this Question.
So don't Laugh. [:D] [:D] [8D]

Is there any way that the Grenade Launcher on the SKS can be Modified without taking it off to make it into a Muzzle Brake or perhaps a Flash Hider?

  No. But taking the grenade launcher & sight off does not require gunsmithing skills. Check out the instructions on www.surplusrifle.com; all you really need is a Dremel tool, although a torch would help. Then, you just screw on a muzzle brake.
  
  Keep in mind, once you remove any parts it will no longer be a C&R.

  I always kinda thought it already served as a muzzle break as well as a flash hider and grenade launcher.

  Actually it doesn't. I've got a friend who's taken a number of them off and the improvement - aesthetic - is dramatic. I wouldn't want one on any of mine. They seem to be limited to the Yugos, around here.
