Anyone have any info on Win 785?
I picked up an older can of powder today cheap, Win 785. It's still good, but I see it's not in current production. Anyone have a book with some load data? I don't have my books available to me at the moment, but by a burn rate chart I see it's pretty slow stuff.

It stumped me at first, because it's in none of my manuals or pwder burn charts. Finally found it in Ken Waters "Pet Loads II", the article dates from the summer of 77. It's on loading 30-06, he notes that 785 is a "newer" Winchester powder specifically suited for use with bullets of 190 grains and heavier.

Hello I have a 1976 winchester reloader booklet It has No. 785 powder if you it has loads for 243 ,6mm ,257 roberts ,25/06 270.7mm mauser etc if You give me a fax # I can copy the sheets and fax to you. "PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0 -
One of my older manuals had info on 785. I don't have it in front of me right now, but, the loads for this powder were listed as DO NOT REDUCE! It was used for 270 win and some magnum cartridges. Not very flexible but might be your cup of tea with the right application.

I don't have a fax. But would be interested in data for most any military caliber, 8mm Mauser, 7.62 Russian, .308, 30-06, 7.7 Jap, 7.5 Swiss, .303 Brit, etc. etc. For $5 for the can it darn well is my cup of tea, even if it has limited application.
Any of you with a digital camera, if you can just take a high res pic of the pages with this data and email to starbugreddwarf@hotmail.com that would be great, or scanner, or what not. Thanks.
