Ruger Redhawk .44 mag -- What's a good price?

I know, I know -- check the autions. I did but it seems like there is a lot of variation on the prices of these guns.

Anyhow, what would be a good price for a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag new in the box?

Blue 7.5 " barrel: ????
Stainless 7.5": ????
Stainless 9.5": ????

Was also looking at some used ones. How do they hold up over time? Are they pretty comfortable to shoot or do they "pound" you? Thanks y'all.

    According to the Blue Book:

    7.5" Blue Redhawk, 100%-- $500.00

    7.5" Stainless Redhawk, 100%-- $535.00

    9.5" "Super" Redhawk Stainless, 100%-- $575.00

    Note: The 9.5" is cataloged as the Super Redhawk, which is larger framed gun than the Redhawk. The "Redhawk" came in 5.5" and 7.5" barrels only.

    Wholesale prices are $465.00 for Super. $435.00 for Stainless Redhawk.
    Blued Redhawk $381.00 . I would work 10% up from those prices and add shipping and you should have a fair price.

    Which is better, the Super or the regular Redhawk? Any distinct advantage to getting the Super?

    Also, would you recommend getting a new Blued Redhawk or a good condition used Stainless Super Redhawk (if they were for the same price)?

    And one more thing. I know it's largely personal preference, but what barrel length is advisable for these revolvers? Just looking, the 7.5" looks just about right but the 9.5" seems a little long.

    Most people buy the 7 1/2" . The Super's have an extended frame,longer barrel threads,cushioned grips and a number of improved mechanical features . Pretty much a better built gun. Can't advise you on which one to get new or used its all up to you and your budget.

    Rugers, as a rule, are just about the toughest built revolver out there, so unless it's had the crap shot out of it, and all full max loads, it will run with any and outlast most. The super is a nice gun but it is big, so you would be best , as always, if you could try both. At least try both in your hand at a shop to see if you like one over the other. Blue or stainless is somewhat of a personal preference anymore, but stainless isn't quite as finicky about keeping it oiled in crappy weather. I agree with the others' price ranges, tho occasionally, you'll find one at a better price if it's been sitting in the case for a while.

    Can't help you on the red hawk but I love my tarus with the built in compensator paid $325 new aboaut ten years ago the stainless is the only way I'll buy them since I'm tough on my weapons I got a football size group at 200 yds off the sand bags with a tasco propoint [plenty accurate for my purpose.
