Flintlock value
I have a flintlock that is 68" long, barrel is 51", bore at muzzle end measures approx. 9/16". Side plate has an eagle and # 871 stamped in. On top of the barrel has 'made in belgium' stamped. Gun is in good overall condition. I have several pics that I can e-mail, am trying to determine the value of the gun.

Sounds like a replica......I don't think they stamped "made in Belgium" on the weapons made in the late 1700s-early 1800s. 0 -
Captkirk is right, we may be able to ID yours with a photo. Very likely a piece made in the 1930s. Stoeger's catalogs of the period offered several Belgium made types of flintlock guns of then-new manufacture. I recall some had faces carved on the bottom of the stock. Flintlocks were still in common use in the African trade at that time. Some guns were re-mfgr using some old, some new parts. There were tons of antique gun parts surplus from by-gone manufacture in Belgium up well after WW2. 0
