choke tube markings???

I have an American Arms Brittany 20 Ga. sxs with choke tubes marked lll and llll. What do these marks mean? Patern is tighter with the one marked llll.????

  Ron, Usually the more hash marks the wider the choke. Yours may be opposite with your make shotgun.
  
  My Benelli choke set is marked:
  
  I = Full choke
  II= Imp mod
  III= Modified
  IIII= Improved Cyl
  IIIII= Cylinder
