Scoup Mounting ??

Does it make a difference on which side the Weaver rings go on the receiver? Do they have to match (large screws on same size)? I wasn't paying attention when I mounted my scope and noticed the rings are mounted on opposite sides (one large screw facing left; one facing right).

  The only thing I noticed about them is that if they are on the right side sometimes they get in the way of loading/unloading, working the bolt, etc, so I make it a practice to have them on the left, although from some advertisements, I may have them backwards.
