I've had this same problem with a Swede Mauser long rifle. There (2) things you can try to solve your feeding problem.

1), Try using a projectile with minuimum amount of lead showing at the tip or one with a plastic nose. ( Remington 140 grain sp's work in the Swede ).

2), By trail and error with the present projectiles your using, try varying the overall length. With luck you MIGHT hit a sweet spot where they will feed OK.

The other option is to modify the rails so that the point of the cartridge points up more. I had that trouble in a 1916 spanish 308. A little file work and the problem cleared up. The only problem with this method is it is rather permanent, you take off too much material and you have a single shot rifle That is difficult to load.

I too have a couple of M-48's (A & BO). To me the big thing was watching the seating depth because that action is about 1/4" shorter than a 98.
I only ran Turkish ammo through it and a couple boxes of Greek Olympic ammunition through it. Both are FMJ with fine points.
Right now I'm loading 200 gr. Speers but I seat them in a little, about 1/16th of an inch inside the magazine box.
The Turkish Ammo barely fit in the box and the Olympic stuff was seated very deep. hope that helps and good luck.

We have the second amendment so that all the rest are secure....UNK>
