Colt Revolver with skeletonized hammer

I have a Colt Officer's Model .38 that was made in 1933. It has a skeletonized hammer. I have never seen another one. Anyone have an idea of how rare they are? I have a factory letter, and it was not mentioned in it. There is a picture of one in R.L. Wilson's "The Book of Colt Firearms" on page 347. On page 354 it mentions that the Ballinger skeletonized hammer is known to be used on #650194.which was probably made in 1941?? Do I have a rare "sleeper" or what?

  I don't know anything about your revolver. My 2 cents though, is that if the skeletonized hammer isn't specifically mentioned in the Colt letter, it don't mean squat as far as rarity and value is concerned. There's no way you can establish that the hammer was altered or installed by Colt.
