win-clean ammo

shot some 38 special winclean ammo , 125 gr half jacket flat nose , shot real nice , light kick in my Colt Cobra , white flash & grouped tight anybody have any info on it as defense ammo seemed like it was pretty hard hitting on some wet phone books ......thanks Billy

    I have used it in 45 ACP, it's CRAP! it would jam in anything we put it in.... it was dirty, and when it did work it seemed like it was a hot load. FYI... win-clean NT in 45 acp has a small primer , so you cant reload it with the REAL 45's[:o)]

    It turns my Hi-Point(9mm)carbine(don't laugh)into a "Jam-a-Matic",when anything else I've used in it works fine.

    I also shoot the 38spl winclean 125 JFP. Does a nice job for me, indoor range, very clean, light load. I do use it in a wheelgun. No experience with it in autos.

    I would NOT use it as a carry round. I think it is loaded down to something like 750-775 fps.

    Maybe there isn't enough in 'em to cycle an auto.

    I must just be lucky or something...I got a great deal on 1000 rounds in .45 ACP...My Glock 21 and 36, Kimber Gold Match, S&W 4516 and Colt Compact each went through approx 200 rounds without a hitch.
    Recently purchased 500 another rounds.

    I have also fired several hundred rounds in .38 and 9mm. No problems there either.

    In terms of using it for CCW or self defense, it is designed to be a practice round. I would try some different HP rounds until you find one that groups well in your Cobra.

    I have fired it in my 1911 springfield no feeding issues but is very very dirty. my bbl looked like a shotgun bbl after a day of shooting clays. It just boils down to getting what you pay for.
