You can delete the other two posts by clicking on the trash can to the right of your post. What size gun is it? A little more information about the gun would help greatly.

"silver" isn't a exactly a finish. I'm going to guess that you have a nickel plated pre- model 10, but we need more information. 5 shots or 6? fixed or adjustable sights? Does it look like the one below?
[img]Remember Ruby Ridge. Henry,I've never seen a Pre Mod 10 with either a 5 shot cylinder or adjustable sights.[:)][/img]Eagle_Guns.gif

Ok, the gun doesnt look like the one in the pic u sent..close but not quite. It has pearl grips and I guess the finish is nickle plated and not silver:). It will hold 6 rounds and the sites are not adjustable. The S&W trademark is just below the "latch" where you open the barrel. The barrel is about 5 inches long(if i measured right). Sorry guys, I just don't know that much about guns, hope this helps you some! THANKS!

Most likely what's known as a .38 Military and Police Model 1905 4th Change. Now that's a mouth full isn't it. From the s/n I'd peg mfg. at the early 1920's.

Without pictures or at the minimum detailed descriptive info. there isn't much more that can be done for you.

Value wise in average to slightly above condition $150-200 and that's if the Pearl grips are still in good shape.

If the revolver is in very good to excellent condition you may want to consider getting a factory letter. Smith and Wesson charges $30 for these documents. They are very informative about date of mfg., mfg. configuration, where shipped to, etc. And for the better quality guns they do add to the value of the piece.

Yes, I meant cylinder instead of barrel [:)] The pearl grips are in excellent condition-no visible scratches or cracks on them. The finish is in very good condition, there are only a couple of tiny "knicks" on it that can barely be seen. Thank you so much for your help!
