I'm thinking about buying a gun from the United Kingdom and sending it to USA. What is the process and is it difficult and exspensive?

  The USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, and DHL all have web sites than can answer your questions. There is also a site on Tariffs that are assessed against imports. Different countries and different items are assessed different percentages. Type in import duties and/or tariffs in your favorite search engine and look for the uniform table of tariffs.
