Huglu Shotguns?

Does anyone have any experience with Huglu shotguns. CZ just started marketing double barrel shotguns made by Huglu. I saw them at the Shot and they looked pretty nice. What can anyone tell me about them.

    All I can say is that I looked into the Huglu shotgun line a few months ago on behalf of a friend who was looking to buy his first over-and-under shotgun. After researching it, I recommended he not buy one. Pro: the top of their line O/Us sell for only around $1000; they're said to have improved their quality noticeably in the last few years; they put a fair amount of effort in engraving and making the guns look fairly pretty. Con: their quality of workmanship, even in their best models, is still pretty short of world standards; there is some question about how long they will hold up; and the engraving and even (surprise) Turkish walnut stocks don't compare favorably with other brands. IMHO, you're better off stepping up a bit and looking at a Browning Citori, a Ruger, or (as my friend wound up buying) a Franchi.

    Heres the thing. I was in The Air Force and was sent to Turkey many times. As a decoration piece, Huglu guns are very nice. As shooters I wouldn't even drop one round through them. They are sold for a lot more money here than they are abroad. I picked up a couple for a buddy, $250 each. That was with a beautiful hand engraving job. They were not designed to shoot steel as required here in the US, so I wouldn't be confident with the barrel integrity.

    Thanks for the info guys. You just saved me some money. I'm always looking for good 28 and 410 SxS shotguns. I thought maybe these would be the answer, but I guess not.
